ADVOCACY CENTRE OPENS OFFICE IN BAYELSA STATE

Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) now has an office in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital.
The new office which was taken delivery of on May 5, 2021 is located at No. 8 Chief Barr. Dikebi Lott Street, Opposite Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bayelsa State Council, Azikoro Road, Ekeki, Yenagoa.
This office, known, called and addressed as “BAYELSA STATE ADVOCACY CENTRE” is established three months after the National Advocacy Centre was established in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. The new Bayelsa State Advocacy Centre would be headed by our Bayelsa State Advocacy Centre, PHILIP GODFREY.
With this new office space, Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre’s activities, projects and programs in Bayelsa State would be strengthened with supervision from the head office in Port Harcourt and networking with the National Advocacy Centre in Abuja. Our team in Bayelsa State would now also have a place to meet, read and use resources that would enhance advocacy, knowledge sharing and self-development. In addition, the Centre will also serve as the State’s rendezvous where the Modular Refinery Multi-Purpose Co-operative Societies set up by Advocacy Centre for artisanal crude oil refiners to pursue alternative means of livelihoods for environmental sustainability in Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta. The “Bayelsa State Association of Modular Refineries Multi-Purpose Co-operative Societies” that emanates from the formation of three Multi-Purposes Co-Operative Societies in the State can also use the office as their meeting and contact office to discuss issues affecting them and their welfare.
Advocacy Centre appreciates the property owner for giving us the space. We congratulate Advocacy Centre, our Bayelsa State team, our Advocacy Centre Youth Volunteers Network and across the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large for the
Executive Director, YEAC.
