The Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) on Friday, August 31, 2018, mobilized some volunteers under the auspices of Ogoni Ecological Defenders for participation in Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF) Sustainability Academy organized in partnership with the University of Port Harcourt, Choba.
Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) organizes special training for youths on “Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding Mechanisms in the Niger Delta”. The 4-days long programs which held between July 31st and August 3, 2018 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital was supported by Pax Viva Foundation, a Rivers State based nongovernmental organization.
On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) organized a sensitization and training programme for Niger Delta Ex-Artisanal Refiners under the auspices of Ogoni Ex-Artisanal Refiners Forum as a peacebuilding mechanism. The training which held in Ogoniland was attended by Ex-Artisanal Refiners from Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta States.
Over the years, modular refineries have dominated discussions among scholars, civil society organizations, the organized private sector and governments as alternative policy option that can address the perennial twin menace of crude oil theft and artisanal refining in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
