We refer to our report and communication dated November 4, 2022 on this subject matter and hereby write to update our members, supporters, Board of Trustees, local and international development partners on the outcome of the court sitting today, Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

The business at the court today as adjourned from November 4 and communicated was for the motions for both the amendment to insert “Incorporated Trustee of” by the Claimants and striking out “Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC)” from the suit for not adding “incorporated trustees of” from the defendant to be taken.

Four Board of Trustees (BoT) members of YEAC-Nigeria led by the BoT Chairwoman, Roseline Omoji were in Court representing YEAC-NIGERIA while Fyneface Dumnamene, the Executive Director represented himself as both the first and second Claimants respectively.

The YEAC-Nigeria team who were in Court before 9AM waited patiently till 3:31PM when the matter was called due to the high volume of cases in the Court.

The arguments on both motions by the Counsels which couldn’t be taken on November 4 due to the early rising of the presiding Judge for an appointment continued till about 3:52PM when the judge concluded it and adjourned the case to December 13, 2022 for ruling on both motions.

We thank all our members, partners, Board of Trustees, local and international development partners who are with us and interested in how this case progresses to a logical conclusion by 2023 as this legal year is gradually coming to an end.

FYNEFACE DUMNAMENE FYNEFACE,
Executive Director, YEAC-Nigeria.
