YEAC-NIGERIA PAYS COURTESY VISIT ON RIVERS STATE GENERAL COMMANDER OF OSPAC
TODAY, October 31, the Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC-Nigeria) paid a courtesy visit to the Rivers State General Commander of the ONELGA Security, Planning, and Advisory Committee (OSPAC), Comrade Felix Nwobakata in his office at the OSPAC headquarters in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA).
The visit was aimed at building and deepening working relationships between YEAC-Nigeria and OSPAC and to also populate the findings of the Security PlayBook regarding non-state security actors.
Security PlayBook, downloadable online, is a joint research publication of Action Group on Free Civic Space (AGFCS) in Nigeria, led by Spaces for Change, with contributions from YEAC-Nigeria as a member.
In the days ahead, ADVOCACY CENTRE, with support from Spaces for Change and partners, would formalize the working relationship with OSPAC, sensitize and support the non-state security outfit to develop and/or strengthen its self-regulations to promote best practices that enhance human rights within the communities of their operation in Rivers State.
Comrade Felix warmly received the Executive Director of YEAC-Nigeria, Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface, a household name to him and members of his team, including Mr. Frank Nornubari and Confidence Ikwegbu and expressed readiness to partner with YEAC-Nigeria to improve the operations of OSPAC and that of his members in the 23 local government areas of Rivers State.
Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface,
Executive Director, YEAC-Nigeria.
