Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC-Nigeria), a member of European Union Agents for Citizen-Driven Transformation (EU-ACT) Programme in Rivers State on August 30th and 31st carried out surveys on Climate Change in Grassroots Communities in Gokana Local Government Area (Ogoni) of Rivers State.

Considering the effects of climate change, its impacts and the need to create awareness on mitigation mechanisms, the activities were used to survey how the people at the grassroots are aware of climate change. The survey in which questionnaires were shared to 20 participants drawn from various communities across Gokana on each day surveyed the knowledge of the community people on climate change, its causes, effect and mitigation mechanisms.
