Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) has been selected by the Action Group on Free Civic Space (AGFCS) in Nigeria led by Spaces for Change among 13 other organizations across the country to contribute to a research project titled “SECURITY PLAYBOOK”.

The research being carried out with support from the Fund for Global Human Rights kicked off on Thursday, July 1, 2021 with a strategy meeting held in Lagos, Nigeria and attended by the Executive Director of Advocacy Centre, Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface with 12 other participants representing their organizations.

The13 participants are researching and working on different thematic areas across the 6 geopolitical zones of the country to examine among others how laws, law enforcement and security personnels are working as state actors and how their work is interplaying with citizens and civic space and either contributing to the enhancement or shrinking civic space.

ADVOCACY CENTRE is appreciative to Spaces for Change and its partners for yet this new opportunity to join others and galvanize collective action in defense of and demand for free and open civic space in Nigeria.

This research is similar to the efforts of the AGFCS that produced the report on #ENDSARS launched recently in Lagos.

Executive Director, YEAC.
