The Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC-Nigeria) and its Executive Director, Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface, wish to inform its members, partners, followers, the general public, and international development partners that another person has again come to say that the idea and proposal for the modification, modernization, legalization, and integration of artisanal refineries into the national economy, which is PACORDI (Presidential Artisanal Crude Oil Refining Development Initiative), belongs to him and his organization.

The Executive Director of YEAC-Nigeria, Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface woke up this morning of Wednesday, August 23, 2023 by 2AM to a WhatsApp message from an unknown phone number of a person that refused to introduce himself alleging that he and his organization owned the idea of legalization and integration of artisanal refineries in Nigeria.

He further said that both Fyneface and YEAC-Nigeria “…are trying to deceive the general public” with “…lies from the pit of hell” because we were “….privileged to speak during our summit….”, in Abuja-FCT on March 22, 2023, etc; citing the newspaper publication of YEAC-Nigeria in The Nation of August 22, 2023 captioned “CENTRE HAILS TINUBU OVER STEPS TO LEGALISE LOCAL REFINERIES” which was forwarded to him from Advocacy Centre’s official WhatsApp Platform.

He added in the message that, “If u are trying to play smart Asked the stakeholders about Domestic Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria (DROAN)”.

A search on who the person could be using his phone number (withheld for now) shows that he is one Mr. Godwin Sunday from Akwa-Ibom State and that he is the “National Chairman of Domestic Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria (DROAN)”

Mr. Fyneface explored “Domestic Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria (DROAN)” further and discovered that the organization is an incorporated trustee (IT) or non-governmental organization (NGO) like YEAC-Nigeria registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on February 25, 2021.

The Executive Director of YEAC-Nigeria responded to the WhatsApp messages with some details on how Fyneface and YEAC-Nigeria are the original owners of PACORDI and advised him to do a press statement with his superior argument backed by facts that he and his organisation owned the idea and then go to the court to seek redress that YEAC-Nigeria/Fyneface Dumnamene will meet him there at the court.

This statement is released for record purposes, especially as an organization registered in 2021 is now also laying claim to this initiative that is older than it, and considering the fact that someone else has also already laid claim to this same proposal of YEAC-Nigeria for the legalization and integration of artisanal refineries as his idea, with many being aware of the journey so far.

While waiting patiently for the next response from Mr. Godwin Sunday, National Chairman of Domestic Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria (DROAN) who is claiming PACORDI as his idea owned by his organization, Advocacy Centre calls on its members, partners, and the general public to remain calm and watch out as things unfold and pan out.

YEAC-Nigeria urges its members not to be surprised over what is happening because when “FOOD IS READY”, things like this should be expected.

It was YEAC-Nigeria’s publication in The Guardian Newspaper that exposed the other claimer and, this time, The Nation Newspaper will also serve its purpose at the right time.

Solidarity!

FYNEFACE DUMNAMENE FYNEFACE,

Executive Director, YEAC-Nigeria
