We recall our updates and communications to you, our members, partners, and donors on July 25, 2023, on the case in Suit N0. PHC/1057/CS/2021 that the matter between Mao Nangi vs. YEAC-Nigeria and Fyneface was adjourned to October 11, 2023. On this date (October 11, 2023), the court sat, but the case that was meant for hearing was not taken as the defense council was never steady in the courtroom that he had a case in another court, and the circumstances, among others, which are part of their delay tactics that we previously reported as the court also frowned at, led to the adjournment of the case today, Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

Today at the court, when it was time for the case to be taken, the same lawyer who said he had a case in another court making the matter to be adjourned to today also came to court and then rose up when the case was called for hearing and told the court that he was not feeling well and that the case should be adjourned to another date to enable him to go and treat himself.

This, being another delay tactic, led the court to approve his request, and the matter was again adjourned in the libel suit filed since April 2021, but a hearing has yet to take place based on these and related frustrating delay tactics, which we’re patiently containing. The new adjourned date for this matter at the Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt will be communicated.

On the other hand, the second case filed on March 14, 2023, in Suit N0. FHC/PH/CS/38/2023 also has an update. We recall our communication to you on this subject matter of a fresh suit filed against Mr. Mao Nangi at the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt to determine the ownership of Presidential Artisanal Crude Oil Refining Development Initiative (PACORDI), developed by Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface of YEAC-Nigeria on July 27, 2020, and used to win a grant of $3,500 from the Global Greengrants Fund (GGF), USA, in September 2020, but which one Mr. Mao Nangi is claiming that he owned the idea of PACORDI, that he developed it on October 20, 2020, leading to his libelous comments against us being contested in the State High Court, which was adjourned to today, Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

The court sat over the matter today, and as the process of exchanging documents and processes is still ongoing, the matter was adjourned to a later date, which would be communicated to you.

Today was the eclipse of the legal battle between YEAC-NIGERIA and Fyneface Dumnamene vs Mr. Moa Nagi as the cases in both the State and Federal High Courts were fixed the same day, October 24, 2023, and held simultaneously in both courts. Like an eclipse, it is a rare occurrence, and to us, it symbolizes divinity or divine presence in the quest for justice for a persecuted frontline advocate of the people of goodwill.
