ADVOCACY CENTRE PRESS RELEASE
WOMEN’S DAY 2021: SUPPORT WOMEN EMANCIPATION FOR SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, SAYS ADVOCACY CENTRE
Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) joins men and women, boys and girls, the old and young people in Nigeria and around the world to celebrate the women on this year’s International Women’s Day today, March 8. With “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world” as this year’s theme, there is no better time to support our women who have also been at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 Pandemic as nurses, doctors and frontline workers to achieve an equal future in their different fields of human endeavours than now.
An equal future is achievable and attainable when we provide level-playing grounds for our women who are mothers of the nation to be able to be in leadership positions like their male counterparts.
It is against these backgrounds that Advocacy Centre and its volunteers across the Niger Delta celebrate our women on this auspicious occasion of International Women’s Day and support women emancipation for social development. As a gender mainstreaming organization with core value of living no one behind, we will continue ensuring that women are given equal opportunities and appointed into leadership positions across our programs and activities for an equal future in a COVID-19 world.
