Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) in collaboration with Connected Development (CODE) had in the 2021 Global Week to Act for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) carried some activities to sensitize the public and students of the University of Port Harcourt. The #Act4SDGs were carried out on radio on September 25 and in the University of Port Harcourt on September 28 where students got sensitized on the 17 SDG goals.

The event which took place in the Ken Saro-Wiwa English House, University of Port Harcourt had the students introduced to the 17 #Act4SDGs. Highlight of  the event was intensive sensitization of the students on all the 17 goals  of the SDGs by the Rivers State lead of Connected Development (CODE), Mrs Evelyn after the introduction of Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre and the purpose for the program by Bere Letam Noble, Project Officer, Advocacy Centre. Reacting to the sensitization and call to action on SDGs, the students shared experiences of the benefits derived from participating in the program with many of them committing to volunteer and the knowledge of the activity with others and spread the information and awareness about SDGs. They also committed to “follow the money” and track  government projects in their communities.
