After meetings with Artisanal Refiners in Akwa-Ibom State on April 23 and 24, 2021, Advocacy Centre on April 25, 2021 had a high-level meeting with selected artisanal refiners and stakeholders from the three senatorial districts in Rivers State. The activity was to discuss artisanal refining, its environmental impacts, violations of environmental rights of the other people, mitigation measures and the formation of co-operative societies for modular refineries as alternative means of livelihood opportunities for environmental sustainability in the Niger Delta.
