Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) refers to its statement dated November 3, 2021 on this subject matter titled “UPDATE ON YEAC vs MR. PLAGIARISM CASE”, promise to update you in our subsequent communication and hereby wishes to inform you, its members, followers, the general public, local and international partners with interest in the case with Mr. Plagiarism in SUIT N0. PHC/1057/CS/2021 with more specific and detailed information.
As communicated on November 3, 2021, the High Court in Rivers State of Nigeria, in the Port Harcourt Judicial Division holding in Port Harcourt and presided over by Hon. Justice (Dr.) O. Gbasam gave an order for the renewal of our Writ/substituted service on Mr. Maobuye Nangi Obu in the case between Mr. Maobuye Nangi Obu (defendant) and Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) and Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface (Claimants). On the same date, the Court also adjoined the case to December 21, 2021 for mention.
Advocacy Centre had sought the leave of the court for an order for substituted service on Mr. Plagiarism in a motion ex-parte dated July 5, 2021 when all efforts to serve him failed and the writ of summon expired after three months of filling on April 1, 2021 and also due to the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) strike at the time that ended in July.
In granting the leave sought by Advocacy Centre and Fyneface on November 3, the Court renewed the Writ of Summon and ordered for substituted service on Mr. Plagiarism to appear in court and for same to be pasted on his door steps in his community in Krakrama, Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers state, pasting same on his Facebook page and WhatsApp Account.
We are thus pleased to inform you that the lead lawyer to Advocacy Centre and Fyneface Dumnamene; Barr. Chioma Choko of the Lord Choko Bay have briefed the Executive Director of YEAC, Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface that the Bailiff reported back to him today that he has served Mr. Maobuye Nangi Obu by pasting the writ of summon on his WhatApp Account on November 17; pasted same on his Facebook account on December 13, and pasted same on his door steps in his village/community on December 16, 2021 as ordered by the High Court Judge, Hon. Justice (Dr.) O. Gbasam.
Thus, Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) through this press statement informs its members, followers, the general public as well as our local and international development partners that with the successful substituted service on Mr. Plagiarism, he is now expected to appear in Court and start defending himself from Tuesday, December 21, 2021 and prove how YEAC and Fyneface stole his acclaimed “intellectual property” on Presidential Artisanal Crude Oil Refining Development Initiative-PACORDI.
YEAC and Fyneface have provided all the proves to our claim in the case; sworn to affidavits under oath as required by law to back them up and have passed all on with other documentary evidences to Mr. Plagiarism in the Writ of Summon served on him by the Court Bailiff.
With the evidences that we have provided on oaths that all date far back before October 20, 2020 which Mr. Plagiarism said he first published about PACORDI and we allegedly ‘stole’ it, we believe that he may be crying in his house now and looking for where to hide his face in shame on realization that PACORDI is actually Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface’s intellectual property and after calling us all kinds of unprintable names on social media, invited people to insult and call us dirty names, called and threatened the staff and organization including the Executive Director of YEAC and then paid a law firm to serve us legal papers for an idea on PACORDI that he actually stole from Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre and Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface.
While looking forward to have Mr. Plagiarism in Court on December 21 to take his plea and start defending himself, Advocacy Centre calls on all its members across the Niger Delta and beyond to remain calm, watchful and prayerful as victory is sure for us because we have verifiable evidences to prove our case and win.
We hereby advise and urge our members to avoid acts of making unfounded, untruthful public accusations without facts and verifiable evidences like Mr. Plagiarism did otherwise they will end up like him and be publicly disgraced like what awaits him in this case. His impending downfall through the judicial system in a court of competent jurisdiction is not something that any of our members should allow to happen to them.
We also hereby re-alert and remind the public especially the Rivers State Commissioner of Police about the subsisting threats from Mr. Maobuye Nangi Obu on this subject matter and for which a petition titled “REQUEST FOR THE ARREST AND PROSECUTION OF ONE MR. “MAOBUYE NANGI OBU” OVER FALSE ALLEGATION THAT I STOLE HIS IDEA ON “PRESIDENTIAL ARTISANAL CRUDE OIL REFINING DEVELOPMENT INITIATE (PACORDI) AND THREATENING MY LIFE, STAFF, ORGANIZATION ON PHONE AND PUBLISHING FALSEHOOD AGAINST ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA” from Advocacy Centre and Fyneface Dumnamene dated March 18, 2021 and submitted to the Police Commissioner same day is still valid.
DISCLAIMER: This statement and Court Order published with it do NOT constitute substituted service on Mr. Maobuye Nangi Obu as ordered by the court. We do not have powers under the law to serve Mr. Plagiarism but the Bailiff who had already done so as stated above. This statement and attached Court Order are only meant to inform and update our members, followers, the general public, local and international development partners who are interested in the case and have being following up with us in solidarity since March 2021 that it started.
Signed,
FYNEFACE DUMNAMENE FYNEFACE,
Executive director, YEAC.
