Advocacy Centre Participates in Nonprofit Management Course for Nonprofit Leaders in the South-South

The Executive Director of Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC), Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface participated in a 3-day “Nonprofit Management Course” organized by Nigeria Network of Non-Governmental Organizations (NNNGO) in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital for the South-South geo-political zone with support Google.org.

The training course which held at Benvindo Tropical hotel Port Harcourt from Tuesday, June 8 to Thursday, June 10, 2021 had in attendance, 40 Executive Directors of civil society organizations from the six South-South States.

The three-days training course introduced and built the capacity of nonprofit organization leaders on key current management issues for nonprofit organisations. The Executive Directors were also trained on topics such as Leading in a crisis, strategy and organizational planning, staff and volunteer management, project management, fundraising, Board Engagement, Establishing a nonprofit in Nigeria, financial management, communications and Digital Tools, nonprofit friendly digital tools, skills and Apps, reporting-narrative as well as case studies that gave insights into how professionals across the sector are applying key management concepts to grow and achieve their organization’s vision and mission.Advocacy Centre is very appreciative to NNNGO and Google.org for this capacity building program coming few days after YEAC’s staff and Executive Director just concluded the 5th organizational capacity building training programs organized by the European Union and British Council in Rivers State under the Agents for Citizen-Driven Transformation (ACT-Program). Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC) is a registered member of NNNGO since 2019 and pays annual dues. The Nigeria Network of Non-governmental Organizations (NNNGO) has a total of 2,975 registered members (as at the date of this report).
